Storm-proof is a children’s story I’m developing about a kid named Tommy who gets tired of being surprised by storms. He starts preparing. He organizes. He builds small routines that make the world feel steadier and more manageable.
But the heart of the story is what happens next: Tommy realizes that being prepared can keep you safe, but it doesn’t automatically make you calm. The story turns toward a quieter lesson about resilience, trust, and letting the right people in without losing the strength you’ve built.
This is an early-stage project I’m shaping into a classic picture-book format. If you’re an illustrator, editor, publisher, or someone who works seriously with children’s stories and this premise speaks to you, feel free to reach out. I’m building it carefully, and I’m open to thoughtful collaboration when the time is right.
